Watch live: RFK Jr. testifies before House on HHS budget

Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. on Wednesday morning will testify before a House Appropriations subcommittee on the fiscal 2026 budget for the department as he pushes his “Make America Healthy Again” initiative.

Since being sworn in to helm HHS, Kennedy has overseen significant layoffs across its agencies and canceled billions of dollars in federal grants to universities and public health departments.

He has also made it his mission to find the root cause of autism — announcing a program earlier this month to partner with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to research the topic.

Kennedy will also face questioning from the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee later this afternoon.

The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9:30 a.m. EDT.
